Daniel E. Lungren (CA), Ranking Member

LungrenU.S. Rep. Dan Lungren returned to Congress in November 2004, representing California’s 3rd Congressional District. Lungren was first elected to Congress in 1978, where he served until 1990. From 1991 through 1999, Lungren served as Attorney General of California and was instrumental in reducing crime, helping author California’s “Three Strikes Law” as well as “Megan’s Law.”

As Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats, Cybersecurity, Science and Technology, Rep. Lungren will continue to work to make our nation safer and protect America from the threat of terrorism.

In addition to his duties on the Committee on Homeland Security, Rep. Lungren also serves on the House Judiciary Committee and is Ranking Member on the Committee on House Administration.


Jurisdiction: Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Threats; agroterrorism; cybersecurity; other emerging threats; science and technology at the Department; DNDO; HSARPA; and cross-cutting science and technology initiatives at the Department.
